Great Machine
This was my first welder, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who's getting into welding.

Not so great sadly
Would not buy again. I have an Ironman 230 that gets used all day long in my fabrication shop. When i wanted to add another welder, the 230 was discontinued but the 240 was advertised as the next generation with even better welding "features". They should have stuck with the 230. My biggest complaint about the Ironman 240 is the excessive hot splatter that has to be ground off every nook and cranny. Yes ive tried multiple different high quality wires and gas mixes. I'm a professional and know what I'm doing. No matter what, the nasty splatter that sticks all over and has to be ground off, is very annoying and causes much time loss. The weld quality out of the machine is very good, but they did not test it enough... I think it stims from the slow start/run in feature. If they had the option to turn this "feature" on and off, I think the machine would be much better. I have reached out to Hobart multiple times but have not been able to get the issue resolved... its just part of what the machine is
